Alison has responsibility for all the marketing, promotional and logistical parts of the business. She also oversees the finance side of the company.
Alison has held a variety of senior level positions in both publishing and conferences and has worked for companies such as Thompson Publishing, Informa plc and IBC, including a period in the US where she marketed US Medical Reports. Prior to this Alison worked at Silverplatter Information an IT company, one of the first companies to sell information on CD.
Previously, Alison practised as a Neuroscientist at the University of Sussex in the UK,(studying neurotransmitters in snail brains!). She holds an Honours degree in Biology.
Lorna oversees all business development activities at Quaynote Communications, including new product research and launches, managing partner programmes and implementing sponsorship strategy.
During her career, Lorna has held a number of senior management and sales positions with leading media and conference companies including Haymarket Publishing, Informa plc, Lloyd`s List Events and Henry Stewart Conference Studies. She holds an honours degree in European Business Studies and speaks fluent French.
Lorna has recently swapped her urban lifestyle in London, UK for the great outdoors in British Columbia, Canada, where she has set up Quaynote`s north American office. Caroline produces conference programmes mainly in the security area, building on existing markets to create new growth and products for Quaynote.
Caroline has 16 years experience in the events industry. In recent years she has been developing national conferences for the public sector on issues ranging from policing and youth crime to mental health and resettlement of offenders. Prior to this Caroline held a number of business development and sales roles during her 14 year employment at Informa Plc and IBC. Caroline holds a BA Honours degree in The History of Art.
Peter is involved with Quaynote on the programme development, PR, Media and Marketing areas of the business.
With 40 years in the nautical business and 22 years writing and editing marine content, Peter has a wealth of experience and a comprehensive range of contacts. As well as being connected with all branches of the specialised yachting media, he has regular contact with the various disciplines that drive the yachting industry, from superyacht captains, to engineers, yacht builders, surveyors, designers and sail makers to name but a few!
Qualification as a shipwright / boat-builder and later as a marine coatings inspector, together with an assignment to Lloyds Register of Shipping to help establish a ground breaking corrosion protection scheme, gave Peter a thorough technical background before he launched into the nautical media world. He has also gained an RYA Powerboat Instructors Certificate and holds an RYA/MCA Commercially Endorsed Advanced Powerboat License. In 2002 he received the special honour to be recognised as a Certified Freeman of the River Thames.

Jean Winfield, a maritime Public Relations & media specialist with more than 20 years’ experience, works alongside Quaynote to be able to offer additional valued-added services to their clients.
Jean has a wealth of domestic and international shipping knowledge, and her company Jeanius Consulting works with maritime companies across the globe in all aspects of PR and marketing. Services include; writing press releases and marketing materials, social media management and creative – digital & print. Services can be tailored to client’s needs and budget and can be anything from assisting an existing internal marketing team to a complete outsource. With Jeanius being an active member of the UK Chamber, BIMCO, WISTA, SPNL, Propeller Club, as well as working alongside many other associated organisations, Jean is passionate about shipping and the role it plays in the global economy.
Previously Jean headed up the marketing, sales, events and administration of a maritime publishing and PR company. Jean had overall responsibility for the global sales of the company’s world-leading publications and generated events revenue, leading the sales teams and coordinating clients’ media analysis, buying and advertising placement. Jean was also Director of London International Shipping Week 2013 and, in this role, worked alongside the UK Government, The Baltic Exchange, Maritime London, UK Chamber of Shipping, Maritime UK and TheCityUK. Jean headed up the global marketing, sales and administration teams of this successful event which showcased UK shipping to the world.
