Tackling Piracy at Sea Conference

Now that international naval forces are patrolling the Gulf of Aden, it is hoped that piracy in the region will be curbed or cease altogether. The Tackling Piracy conference debated whether such initiatives were sufficient to tackle piracy or if the potential rewards in the form of ransoms paid will outweigh the associated risks for pirates.
